Principal Message

Mr. K.K. Kalatharan, M.E., Principal(FAC)

Government Polytechnic College, Thiruvottriyur, Chennai

It is with immense pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the Government Polytechnic College, Thiruvottriyur, Chennai — a visionary institution established under the Vada Chennai Valarchi Thittam by the Government of Tamil Nadu. This college stands as a testament to the State’s commitment to equitable access to quality technical education and regional development.

Our mission is not only to impart technical knowledge but also to empower young minds with the confidence, skills, and values required to succeed in a dynamic and ever-evolving global landscape. The five diploma programmes we offer — in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, and Computer Engineering — are designed with a strong focus on practical learning, employability, and industry relevance.

In these formative years, we are operating with the support and infrastructure of Government Polytechnic College, R.K. Nagar, which allows us to begin our academic journey with a strong foundation of experience, excellence, and dedicated faculty.

I strongly believe that technical education is a powerful catalyst for individual transformation and societal progress. We are committed to nurturing students who are not only professionally competent but also socially conscious and ethically grounded.

I invite students, parents, industry leaders, and academic partners to join hands with us in building this new institution into a center of excellence for skill development in North Chennai. Together, we can shape a brighter future — for our students, our community, and our state
